Lake Atitlán, Guatemala, May 2 to May 8, 2027

Program
Join DrK and a community of like-minded individuals for a transformative journey of yoga in the breathtaking serenity of Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica.
Come and learn about the yoga of Body, Breath, Mind, Lifestyle (BBML) and their union. It will positively affect your life.
Come and enjoy a carefully planned and masterfully guided yoga practice and study for six consecutive days and elevate your yoga to new heights. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or have just started your yoga, it will advance your practice and will deepen your understanding of yoga.
Come and enjoy living in nature while having access to all the amenities and comfort of modern life. You will be awakened by the symphony of nature played by birds, monkeys, sound of wind, and rain every morning. You will be amazed with a beautiful natural setting that you have not imagined exists.
Come and live close to nature while enjoying the comfort of a beautiful private retreat estate. Wake to mountain air, tropical gardens, sweeping views of Lake Atitlán and the surrounding volcanoes, and the slower rhythm of life in one of Guatemala’s most extraordinary landscapes.
Come and have fun. Enjoy daily group activities, nourishing meals, time to relax in the gardens and by the pool, explore nearby villages around the lake, experience local culture, and simply enjoy being somewhere truly different.
You will not forget the experience and you will enjoy the memory of it for many years to come. That is the promise.
A retreat is shaped not only by where we go, but by the people with whom we share the experience. Throughout the week we will practice, learn, eat, explore, laugh, reflect, and spend time together as a community of people who have intentionally stepped away from everyday routines to deepen their practice and reconnect with themselves.
Why Lake Atitlán?
Lake Atitlán is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Formed approximately 84,000 years ago by a massive volcanic eruption, the lake sits nearly 5,000 feet above sea level and reaches depths of over 1,100 feet, making it the deepest lake in Central America.
Surrounded by three majestic ancient volcanoes—Atitlán, Tolimán, and San Pedro, known as “The Three Giants”—the lake is framed by lush mountains and dense forests, home to diverse wildlife, including Guatemala’s national bird, the resplendent quetzal. Its waters shift in color from deep blue to emerald green, creating an extraordinary landscape for reflection, connection, and renewal.

Living Maya Communities
Around the lake are numerous villages with strong Tz’utujil and Kaqchikel Maya cultural identities, where ancestral traditions, Indigenous languages, colorful textiles, weaving, markets, and local crafts remain an integral part of daily life.

From the peaceful lakeside villages of Santa Cruz, Tzununá, and San Marcos to the colorful artistic community of San Juan La Laguna and the lively markets of Panajachel, each village offers its own character and cultural experiences.
Traveling between villages is an experience in itself. Local boats, known as lanchas or water taxis, connect communities around the lake, offering scenic journeys across the water beneath the surrounding volcanoes. While some villages are accessible by road, boats are an essential part of everyday transportation and one of the most memorable ways to explore Lake Atitlán.
Our retreat home is in Tzununá, a quiet village on the northern side of the lake. Here, the pace of life slows naturally. Mountains, water, gardens, birds, and open sky become part of the retreat experience itself.
During your free time, you may choose to simply relax at The Seed or explore the communities surrounding Lake Atitlán. Each village has its own atmosphere, culture, traditions, cafés, markets, art, and local life.
Practice Yoga Above One of the Most Beautiful Lakes in the World
At the top of The Seed Villa, the open-air rooftop yoga shala looks across Lake Atitlán toward the surrounding volcanoes. Morning practice here becomes part of the landscape itself — sky, mountains, water, breath, and movement meeting in one extraordinary setting.

For the duration of our retreat, the estate becomes our home—a peaceful world of tropical gardens, open-air living spaces, sweeping lake and volcano views, and three unique eco-homes: The Seed Villa, Violeta Cottage, and Mimosa Casita.

The property creates a peaceful environment for practice, study, rest, community, and exploration. Gather on flower-covered terraces, relax by the pool, wander through lush gardens, or simply find a quiet place to sit and take in the lake and surrounding mountains.

Rest, Restore, and Reconnect
The Seed offers many spaces to slow down and enjoy the natural surroundings. Relax in the gardens, cool off in the pool, spend quiet time on a flower-covered terrace, or simply sit and watch the light move across the lake and volcanoes.
Our retreat experience will also include time to enjoy the wellness spaces and experiences available at The Seed, including its traditional temazcal.
